Our Story

Fox & Feathers was founded on the recognition that, despite growing awareness, many counselling and consulting services remain generic, transactional, or disconnected from the lived experiences of diverse communities, particularly Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, BIPOC, and other historically marginalized groups. These communities are often treated as an afterthought, creating significant gaps in access to culturally relevant, impactful support.

Owned and operated by Indigenous, 2SLGBTQ+, neurodivergent mothers, we bring both lived experience and professional expertise to the table. Our focus on mental health counselling, coaching, and business consulting allows us to provide holistic solutions that are culturally informed, practically grounded, and tailored to the real-world challenges faced by individuals and organizations alike. At Fox & Feathers, we don’t just deliver services, we bridge systemic gaps, foster authentic growth, and create environments where both people and organizations can thrive.

Land Acknowledgment

Fox and Feathers is proud and grateful to operate on the unceded traditional territory of treaty 6, a land that is also the homeland of the Metis and the home of one of the largest Inuit communities south of the 60th parallel. We acknowledge the presence of the diverse Indigenous Peoples including the nehiyaw (Cree), Dene, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux), Nakota Isga (Sioux) and Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) peoples whose ancestors have walked this land for centuries. We honour the rich culture and history on this land and in the spirit of reconciliation we are committed to building strong relationships and fostering a more equitable future and just future for all.

The Meaning Behind Our Name

The name Fox & Feathers reflects both our personal journey and our aspirations as a company. It honors our Indigenous heritage while celebrating who we are as individuals, partners, and parents. The fox came to us during our journey to motherhood with our daughter, symbolizing adaptability and wisdom, while the eagle watched over us during the birth of our son, representing vision and guidance.

The colors and circular design are inspired by the medicine wheel, grounding us in Indigenous ways of healing. The two feathers represent the two-spirit identity and honor our connection to the 2SLGBTQ+ community, an integral part of who we are.
